The Atwater Writers Exhibition presents A Picture and a Thousand Words, a series of paired workshops featuring an hour of visual art and craft activities followed by an hour of writing. These cross-pollinating sessions will take place by Zoom until in-person sessions are possible. They will be held from 10:15 a.m. to 12:30 p.m., with a 15-minute break between the two parts. Additional dates are also available.
Art activities will be led by Anna Jane McIntyre. They may include collage-making, zine-making, drawing, mini-sculptures, and other creative work requiring no previous training. The first four writing activities will be led by Elaine Kalman Naves. She will use prompts and short activities as jumping-off points for personal writing, memoir or nonfiction.
